Dean leaned back into the pillow on his bed, trying to get a little more comfortable. After a few seconds of this, right around the time Jane was asking if he knew any ways to pick up girls with battle scars, he pushed himself off of the bed and snatched the pillow from Sam's bed, adding it to his own before settling down again. He sighed in obvious relief before remembering that there was an actual question on the table. It was sort of a silly question actually. Dean could pick up women in a heartbeat, no matter what the situation was. He just had the good looks and confidence of a man who knew what he wanted and how to get it. But recently, ever since leaving Lisa and Ben behind to go back on the road with Sam, well...fighting monsters and spending time with his brother was really all he really had any interest in. Sure, he would still fool around with a woman if he needed to release some energy. However, it was more of a situation of convenience these days. If a girl was there and wanted some, he would be happy to oblige, so long as the girl understood it was just sex and nothing further. There was far less passion and charm involved. He couldn't help it. He had allowed himself to fall in love with Lisa and it had messed him up big time in the way of love and relationships.
Still, there was no way Jane could have possibly in a million years known any of this. So her question was completely innocent and natural, but it still left Dean slightly unsure of how to respond. The silence continued to stretch on and finally Dean just did what Dean did best when confronted by a touchy situation. He changed the subject. "You still want me to teach you how to keep yourself safe should a demon ever cross your path again?" Quite honestly, there was one option that would work wonders for her, since she now had the hex bag. And that was to leave.
People hanging around the Winchesters tended to have demon issues.
