Meg froze with her blood-soaked hands wringing out the last drops of the 40th sacrifice's body. She spun around to face the intruder with a scowl that was trying very hard to mask her fear. "Crowley." Crowley sauntered deeper into the room full of dead bodies, frozen humans and skittish demons. He inclined his head in a sort of half nod, looking from Meg to Sam to Jane by his side and greeting them in turn. "Whore. Moose. Don't know." He kicked aside a corpse, surveying the surroundings. "It seems you forgot to invite me to your party. Could that possibly be because you are trying to DETHROWN ME?!" He shouted the last two words venomously. Meg flinched. Sam tried to inch both himself and Jane towards the door. An argument between demons was never a good place to be standing in the middle of.
"Don't move" Crowley and Meg ordered at once before going back to glaring at each other.
Sam glanced around at all the huddled groups of petrified humans, wishing there was something he could do to get them out of there but even with the dozen or so demons who had smoked out to get away before any exorcism could be completed, there was still too many to try and take on by himself. Which again begged the question, where was Dean? "Where's my brother" he demanded sharply. Meg gave a hollow laugh still looking at Crowley rather than Sam. "The two of you really need to learn how to be a little more self-sufficient. There's more to life than just your little Winchester world you know." She gave a quick jerk of her head and two demons appeared out of nowhere, pouncing on Jane, each grabbing an arm. Sam took a step to try and get to her, but yet another demon grabbed him by the shoulder, preventing him. Crowley watched, uninterested, clearly waiting until this whole little human dispute was over before getting back to the demon fight.
"See, I was inside of you for awhile Sammy. I know what makes you tick. You let pointless guilt eat you up inside. Just like I know it will if I kill off your little friend over there." Sam gave a violent tug, now trying to get to Meg but the demon held him in place. "But I'll give you a chance to save her since I know that's what you Winchesters love best. I'll give you a choice." She jerked her head again and two more demons dragged Dean forward.
"Pick one."
