ooc; SEASON ONE. EPISODE SIXTEEN.
"So you boys are from the alarm company?" The landlady looked at them curiously as she opened up the door of the apartment in question. Sam nodded. "Yes ma'am." "Well no offense, but your product sucks." Dean raised an eyebrow at how blunt she had been while Sam quickly added, "well that's why we're here. We want to see what malfunctioned so nothing like this will happen again." The landlady plunked the keys into Sam's offered palm. "Well ok. Lock up and find me when you're done." The instant she was out of sight, Dean pulled his hand-made EMF detector free of his jacket's inner pocket and began scanning the walls with it. Sam began surveying the rest of the room's layout. "So you talked to the cops?" Dean grinned fondly. "I did. I spoke with Amy, the charming and perky officer of the law who was the first on the scene." "What'd you find out?" Dean raised an eyebrow suggestively. "Well...she's a Sagittarius, she likes tequila...oh, she has this little tattoo of a"- "Dean!"
Dean rolled his eyes. "Right. Pretty much what we already know, except for one tiny detail they are keeping on the down low...figured it might cause even more panic...Meredith's heart was missing." Sam blinked. "Her..." "Heart. Missing. Yes." "But it's not the right lunar cycle for a werewolf" Sam protested. Then his eyes fell upon the EMF detector in Dean's hand which was lighting up and vibrating in an indication of spiritual activity. "And creatures don't give off EMF so it's got to be a spirit of some kind." Dean nodded in agreement and pocketed the detector. His eyes fell next upon the dots of blood covering the carpet. They seemed to be forming some kind of symbol. "Hey. See if there's any duct tape around." Sam didn't ask questions...it was usually a waste of time when Dean was in the zone...but merely tossed him a roll from the tool box in a kitchen cupboard. Dean knelt and began taping off the area, connecting the dots. When he had finished, he straightened up and both boys looked down at the shape that had been outlined. Sam frowned. "You ever seen anything like that before?" Dean shook his head slowly. "No."
"Me either."
