ooc; SEASON ONE. EPISODE FIFTEEN.
Dean let another dart fly. "I don't know man, it doesn't sound like our kind of thing." He sauntered up to the dart board and collected his darts in one fist. "We talked to the kid like you said and it sounds like it might just be a kidnapping." Sam took a swig of beer and scanned the mountains of paperwork spread out before him, encircling John's journal. "Evan saw something take Mr. Jenkins" he repeated, flipping a page in the journal. "Plus, there's this." He waved his brother over. Dean left the darts in a pile on a table and came up behind Sam to peer over his shoulder. Sam pointed to what he had noticed. "Dad made a note about this county having more missing persons than any other in the state. And he mentioned the possibility of a phantom attacker."
Dean gave a shrug of mild concern, showing he wasn't married to the idea of it not being their kind of deal. "Could be. But don't phantom attackers usually grab people from their beds? Not parking lots?" He grabbed up his half-touched beer from beside Sam's on the table and took a long swig. Sam leafed through the next few pages of the journal but came up dry. "I'm not saying it's definitely our kind of gig, but"- "We should check it out anyway, I know." Dean put down the empty beer bottle and reached for the darts again. Sam got to his feet and scooped up his jacket, beginning to tuck all the paperwork away into his waiting briefcase. "So let's go check into that motel we saw a few blocks back."
"Woah, slow down a second. Let's go another round or two." Dean held up the darts. Sam shook his head seriously. "We should get an early start tomorrow." Dean sighed heavily and dropped the darts. "Boy, you sure do know how to have fun, huh grandma?" Sam's expression didn't budge so Dean gave in, picking up his jacket. "Fine. I'll meet you outside in five." After doing his business in the bathroom, Dean shrugged into his leather jacket and headed outside, expecting to find Sam aggravated that he had taken so long.
But Sam wasn't there.
