ooc; SEASON TWO. EPISODE TWELVE.
The jewelry store's manager faced Sam with a troubled expression. "Helena was our head buyer. She...she was family. We all thought of her that way and she even said, every year at the holiday party...we were the only family she knew." Sam considered this. "So...there was never any sign she would do something like this?" "Of course not. I mean...I still can't believe it. Even now. I just don't understand why she would steal from us...all that money and jewelry....and then go home and kill herself like that...it just doesn't make any sense." Sam had to agree, but then again, if it had made sense, he and Dean wouldn't be there. He wouldn't be interviewing the manager, posing as a federal agent, and Dean wouldn't be across the room, pretending to do the same with the assistant manager, while really just flirting. Sam could tell from his body language and the way the woman was leaning forward, twirling her hair suggested it was a two way street.
Sam turned his focus back to the manager. "So did you see any of the security footage yourself?" He shook his head morosely. "No. The cops took everything." "Of course they did" Dean interrupted, approaching with a satisfied smile, telling Sam he'd scored the woman's number. "Well thank you very much for your time." Sam shook the manager's hand politely and then he and Dean got out of there.
While Dean drove them to their next desired location, Sam went back over the police reports. Just from reading the witness' statement, he knew this was going to be a much different visit than the one they'd just had.
And not only because Dean wouldn't be flirting with this one.
