Mary Winchester, heavily pregnant, and her husband John stood in their nursery by the crib, looking at the room's latest decorational addition. Mary had picked up a small white clay angel figurine at a garage sale on her way home from the market. She'd simply been browsing and it had sort of called out to her for reasons she still couldn't explain. "Where'd you even get it" John wanted to know, staring. "Garage sale. 25 cents." "Well I'm glad to hear that anyway" John teased. Mary elbowed him, laughing. "Hey!" "I mean, you really don't think it's just a...little cheesy" John wanted to know, the angel just sort of staring back at them with its frozen smile. "I think it's sweet" Mary countered, tilting her head to the side with a fond smile. "I can't even put my finger on why I like it. I just...like it." John took her chin in his and lifted it. "Then I love it" he assured her, pressing their lips together in a brief kiss before exiting.
Mary remained in the room a few seconds longer, watching the angel. "Ohh..." She drew in a deep breath, placing one hand to her swollen stomach as the baby inside lashed out with a tiny foot. "Quite a kick there" she observed, already feeling an overwhelming love for her soon to be first born. "Troublemaker already." She smiled at the thought, rubbing her stomach in a comforting fashion. "It's okay, baby" she whispered lovingly. "It's all okay." Her eyes found the figurine.
"Angels are watching over you."
