When the brothers sobered up in the blink of an eye, Isaac felt himself involuntarily shift his shoulders out and tense as if to brace himself from them. The intensity in their eyes was completely out of character from what he was now used to seeing. Sam's change was the most startling- he was rapt with attention to the story now. Whatever was eating at these two, this was it. Or had to do a large part with it. And with that simple gesture he knew the stories about these boys were true- they were onto a game levels above Isaac.
Isaac almost couldn't believe his ears. His face looked half-skeptical while inside the gears were turning full tilt to process the information. First of all, Purgatory was real. He knew Hell was real, that was a given, but he never had believed in a Heaven, let alone a Purgatory. But... Five years ago he wouldn't have said demons could possibly be real. That ghosts could possibly be real. That a wendigo, shape shifter, werewolf, that any of these things were possibilities. So he listened with as open a mind as he could as Sam took over, mentioning souls being released for a 'reason'.
Maybe they just weren't used to trying to hide answers from hunters, or maybe normal hunters weren't as quick as Isaac, but there was a small moment of hesitation in Isaac that questioned whether Sam truly thought he was an idiot or not. Isaac prided himself on reading people, it was how most of his best work was accomplished, and it was plain as day that they knew the reason, or had a really damn good guess, that they didn't want to tell him. But could they at least give him the benefit of the doubt that he understood some things were not for his ears? Shoving the petty slight from his mind he focused back to Dean's words.
Leviathans. Calling any creature that was bad enough. To now know that what rumors he had heard were true, that these things devoured people, and now that they were thus far unkillable, made his stomach churn. Some bastardization of shifters perhaps? Would normal shifter tactics work on these? Judging by the fact that these two were more than likely actively hunting these new hyper-creatures, Isaac assumed they knew enough of what they were doing to try that maneuver.
When Dean and Sam had stopped talking, Isaac scrunched his brow and closed his eyes momentarily.
"Okay. Leviathans. Unkillable. Eat people. Fantastic... Never thought I'd find something I liked less than demons." Yeah, admittedly, he was scared witless. A creature they couldn't kill? Well, couldn't kill yet. That was the small silver lining- there was always a way to kill things. Even the biggest and baddest demons could be killed, it just wasn't with any semblance of ease. But something from Purgatory, something potentially predated demons... That was a truly scary though, but on the outside Isaac remained cool, nearly curious, but a healthy amount concerned. His way of receiving bad news was sometimes off-putting because most people expected a person to react differently than Isaac did. Instead...
"So what have you guys found out? I mean, isn't it important to share this with the rest of the community? Those guys that went to Oregon could've been e-" he began saying, pulling away an inch a patron passed by, offering her a smile before putting his head back into the conversation. "Could've been eaten. I mean I know hunter's aren't always the nicest of guys we're not exactly high in supply."
