ooc; SEASON SIX. EPISODE TEN.
"Alright, well just tell him we got it." Sam hung up in exasperation and inclined his head over the top of the Impala at Dean who was waiting to hear the result of his phone call. "Some demon minion answered. Gave me a location." "And Crowley" Dean pressed, looking annoyed. "Wouldn't say if he'd be there or not." Sam pocketed his phone and opened the Impala's passenger side door, preparing to get in. Dean exhaled sharply. "Awesome." "Dean, we don't have a choice" Sam reminded him patiently. "Whether or not Crowley's there, he'll know if we don't show up with"- He jerked his head at the trunk where their captured Rugaru was stashed. "And you aren't getting tired of this" Dean demanded, looking edgy. "You aren't getting tired of following Crowley's orders without ever actually even seeing the dick?" "Of course I am" Sam lied, not actually finding the situation as irksome as Dean appeared to. "But like I said, we"- "Don't have a choice, I know" Dean finished with a heavy sigh and shake of the head. "Alright, let's go." He wrenched open the driver's side door and basically flung himself inside. Sam took his own seat with far less gusto.
As Dean drove, Sam stared out the window in contemplative silence. He was actually hoping, no matter what he told Dean, that Crowley WOULDN'T be there. The longer they put off seeing Crowley, the longer it would be before Dean could demand he hold up his end of the bargain and return Sam's soul. Which Sam was truly starting to believe he'd be better off without. Sure it made things a little easier in some respects to have a soul.
But a whole lot harder in others.
