Dean hung up, pocketed his phone, and made tracks for the fun house, keeping every sense on high alert in case Papazian reappeared. But fortunately, he met up with Sam at the fun house's entrance five minutes later without incident. "Let's hurry this thing up" Dean suggested, following Sam into the depths of the dimly lit house. Not that he was particularly scared or anything but he didn't relish being in a maze-like structure in which he could barely see himself or Sam let alone an invisible monster that wanted to kill them.
"Ok, well I saw a brass organ in here somewhere when I was scanning it for EMF earlier" Sam announced, glancing from his left to his right in concentration, obviously trying to remember which way to go in order to find it. Dean pointed. "You go that way and I'll go this way. We'll meet in the middle." They didn't have time to sit there and wait for Sam to figure out the exact location. Obviously he wasn't too stoked about leaving his baby brother to fend for himself should the fake-blind-person/clown/rockshasa jump him, but it was just more logical to split up. They had a much faster chance of getting to the organ before Papazian got to them.
Dean lingered for a minute, waiting until Sam had vanished around the corner, before heading off, tensely alert, in the opposite direction. He felt naked without his usual supply of weapons stashed on him, but nothing would have worked on the rockshasa anyway. The maze was more difficult than he'd imagined it would be and after three attempts to find the middle, he called out, "Sammy?" "Over here" came Sam's voice, drifting to Dean's ears from somewhere to his left. Dean sped up. He'd just laid eyes on his brother, trying to pry free one of the many brass spikes of the organ, when a knife came flying out of nowhere, pinning him to the wall by one sleeve. A second knife joined the first about a foot lower. Dean grabbed onto the first, tugging for all he was worth in an attempt to free himself. "Dean" Sam shouted in concern. "I'm fine" Dean assured him, still tugging on the first knife. "Just find him!"
"How" Sam asked in desperation, finally pulling the brass spike free and spinning around in a complete circle. In a sudden inspiration, Dean reached up with his free arm and twisted the lever that released a blast of smoke from the organ, filling the room. There was a floating silhouette in the mist directly behind Sam. Dean wrenched the first knife free of his sleeve and started working frantically on the second. "Sam! Behind you!!!" Without turning around, Sam plunged the spike into the torso of the rockshasa. It gave a high pitched scream and crumpled to the ground, where it vanished, leaving behind nothing but the wrinkled suit it had been wearing. Dean finally managed to pull free the second knife and toss it to the ground. He moved to stand next to Sam and look down with a long sigh.
"I hate fun houses."
